John Schneider Filmography
John Schneider was born on April 8, 1960 in Mount Kisco, New York.  John Schneider was given the same name as his father and grandfather.  His parents got a divorce when Schneider was two years old.  Schneider was rather overweight as a kid but his love for performing was just beginning.  He started out at the age of eight years old as playing a magician in a skit with a teacher before an audience at a New York hospital.  Schneider did a lot of magician shows throughout his neighborhood and by the time he was thirteen he was getting hired to perform at birthday parties.
Schneider moved to Atlanta, GA. to be with his mother at the age of fourteen.  He briefly attended the Georgia School of High Performance.  He played the guitar at parties and clubs as well.  He preformed in school plays at North Spring High School where his first case part was Tevye in a production of
Fiddler on the Roof, and was limited to his choice of other roles because he was fifty pounds overweight.  That summer Schneider vowed to go on a diet and, in two months, he lost all the weight.  Schneider returned thin, to the school stage in Annie Get Your Gun as Frank Butler.
At the age of sixteen Schneider was a eight year veteran of community for children's dinner theaters.  He took any job in the entertainment field he could find, including a barbershop quartet, a commercial for Coca-Cola, and a spot in the cabaret Manhattan Yellow Pages at the Atlanta Omni International Hotel.  He also appeared as a extra in
Smokey and the Bandit.  Schneider and a friend cut school to get the extra's part.
Schneider was about to take off to Hollywood when Hollywood came to him.  His agent told him that Warner Bros. was in the area to make a series called the
Dukes of Hazzard and that they were looking for a young handsome guy that could handle a car.  Schneider went and borrowed his friends white Chevy pickup truck with his ragged shirt on, and a can of PBR beer in his hand and told executives that he was 24 and was from Snellville, GA. and he could race a car.  Executives on the spot loved what they saw.

Bo Duke was the youngest of the Duke clan.  He was very handy at driving the wheels off of a car but, wasn't so handy as to getting out of trouble.  His older cousin Luke did all of the thinking.  Bo was the driver, driving them out of trouble.  Bo was also a ladies man, and would risk his neck for a woman.
